Benefits of Three-Year-Old Kindergarten
We often oversee the benefits of Childcare services and how fundamental they are with helping children develop social, emotional, and physical skills. The introduction of a funded three-year-old kindergarten program by the Victorian Government makes for an exciting time in the early education industry and gives children a great start to building a bright future.
What is Three-Year-Old Kindergarten?
Three-year-old kinder will be offered at Long Day Care services as well as at standalone kindergartens. For Kool Kidz families, this means your child can access the three-year-old kinder ahead of moving into 4-year-old kinder the following year – this offers a wonderful and seamless learning opportunity for children to progressively prepare them for primary school.
Who funds Three-Year-Old Kindergarten?
In 2022, Victoria will be the first state or territory in Australia to introduce funded kindergarten programs for Victorian children of three years of age whereby the government will financially assist kindergarten services with a portion of the cost of your child attending. By 2023, 3-year-olds will be able to access 15 hours of kindergarten, an increase of 10 hours that is currently available.
What learning programs is included in 3-year-old kindergarten?
At 3-Year-Old Kinder, children use play and imagination to learn critical skills such as language, numbers, and patterns. The environment also helps them to build their social skills, which includes developing essential things such as learning how to get along with others, sharing, listening, and managing their emotions.
